About Us

We are the North Somerset LGBT+ Forum...

The North Somerset LGBT+ Forum has been a registered charity since 2017. Our current chair Steve Winter-Gray joined the team in 2019, bringing the charity to a wider audience through a variety of exciting fundraising events, community drop-ins and activities.

The Forum is proud to be independently run and we are not affiliated with any other LGBT+ organisations.

Whilst the Forum supports local LGBT+ organisations in their aims, we remain dedicated to supporting the whole district of North Somerset rather than a single location. We are also determined that our activities, events and HQ remain affordable (often free), accessible and fun, and rely solely on donations and charitable grants to continue operating. It is in this way the North Somerset LGBT+ Forum is unique in what we offer the communities of North Somerset.
Our vision is that North Somerset is fully inclusive of and engaged with the LGBT+ population and that North Somerset is a friendly and welcoming place to live in and visit for members of the LGBT+ community.

Our Mission

To provide a platform for LGBT+ voices to be heard through activities, drop-in sessions, social activities and social media. To contribute to the development and maintenance of LGBT+ inclusive services in North Somerset through engagement with statutory, non-statutory bodies and organisations. To listen and respond to real-time feedback from members of our community, including our allies and those individuals from other marginalised communities regarding the support needed within the North Somerset area and respond accordingly within the capacity of the charity and the trustees and volunteers who support us.
